Should a Biography Be Included on a QR Code Business Card?

Discussion of what information is valuable on an electronic QR code business card and what is excessive will always be relevant. The concept of an "electronic business card" is not as clearly defined as that of traditional paper business cards. An electronic business card can be a short text message with a phone number, an image with contact information, an address, or even a small website. All these forms are variations of electronic or digital business cards.

Today, I would like to share my opinion on the "biography" section of a business card, or perhaps it's better to call it "work experience" or "background." Not all business cards provide the opportunity to describe oneself, but I have such a section. Today, I won't talk about other sections such as photos and education, but I want to emphasize the importance of the "biography" section.

Working as a sales manager in the high-tech equipment industry, I have come a long way from being an assistant who prepared commercial offers with images to becoming a department head. Throughout this time, I have dealt with clients, answered their questions, provided explanations, reached agreements, and resolved various issues. One day, one of the clients expressed dissatisfaction with my colleague, who, however, had good knowledge of the products. This case was not an exception; most of the salespeople in our company were competent. But this client's statement made me think about how important it is for the client to know who they are dealing with. The more information a client has about a manager, the better.

My knowledge and experience were significantly higher than those of my colleagues, thanks to my education and experience with similar equipment. However, the client couldn't see my knowledge; they were invisible. The only way to let the client know more about my experience and competencies is to tell them when the opportunity arises. But such opportunities are rare.

What does a client always want? A highly qualified manager! A client wants a manager who is an expert, who can instantly answer any question and provide real examples. This is what a client expects when they are about to spend their money. If a manager cannot meet this expectation, a deal may not happen.

There is an important moment - the initial communication with the client when the client has just started communicating with you and has expressed interest. At this moment, your QR code business card can do part of the work by providing the client with information about you as a competent specialist with good experience. This helps the client get to know you and start trusting you.

How often do you study a seller's biography when considering the purchase of an expensive item, such as a car? Probably not very often. Usually, clients simply communicate with the managers provided to them and do not have the opportunity to learn more about them.

And here is where the decision to create an electronic business card comes into play. It can provide the client with information about you as a competent specialist and instill trust. This is very important because a client who trusts the manager is ready for more productive communication. Trust is already half the battle. After that, technical details become important, depending on various factors such as price, deadlines, guarantees, etc.

In conclusion, the "biography" section on an electronic business card is useful and even necessary.
